Time flies, can't believe we are 2 years strong now. Thank you everyone that has supported the Rumpshakers movement.
Friday April 21st, we will celebrate our anniversary with the premiere Toronto appearance of Spinscott from Baltimore, U.S.A. For those of you new to his name, we were introduced to his MPC live performance jungle and were blown away. Blending oldschool jungle fused with 808's and current style beats, his show is captivating to say the least.
As usual to Rumpshakers, we have curated the night with a progression of bass music starting with grime, and UKG elements, and then evolving into future jungle, a perfect segway into Spinscott's retrospective beats, and then we will finish it off with some straight-up D&B. This one's for you Bass Heads and Toronto Junglists.
★ Spinscott (Baltimore, USA)
Spinscott is a DJ, producer, and lifelong drummer who created and regularly performs a live format called Jungle Plus Drums. Each unique DJ set features 100% LIVE Loop-Free Jungle played real-time on the drum machine, combined with mixing of original & classic tracks on CDJs and drum rhythms played with the music. Spinscott has been active in the Jungle / Drum and Bass music scenes since the mid 1990’s, and has performed hundreds of DJ sets at the national level.
Attracting global attention through his Live Jungle Drum Machine videos that showcase freestyle jungle on the drum machine, Spinscott continues to create viral music content across media platforms, driving demand for live appearances at music events. In 2015/'16, Spinscott played shows in over 18 cities, performed live at the Pioneer USA and AKAI Pro booths at NAMM, and became a premier finger drumming lesson artist for Melodics. He has charted releases on multiple labels including: Dynamix Records, Faction Digital Recordings, Wicked Jungle Records, and forthcoming tracks on vinyl & digital for Elm Imprint. Spinscott also hosts the Monday night weekly Jungle + Drums radio program on jungletrain.net, which often features appearances by his pit-lab mix MC Baxter.
Aside from his role in Rumpshakers operations, LTLT has been stacking dubs for a while now, from dancey numbers to grime influenced bits, we're looking forward to hearing our guy set the vibes right for the night.
We're very excited for this girl's career. A drum & bass, jungle kid at heart, Elixah's take on UK bass and garage music is one to pay attention. Slick mixes of groovy, bassline infused beats is her secret formula to keeping the dance floor moving.
★ Groves x Captivate
The two slayed it individually at the last Compound, a perfect complement to each others style and sound, we are looking forward to these guys throwing down back-to-back.
Krahlah threw down for us back in the summer for Stranjah's birthday patio jam, and we have been impressed ever since. We're looking forward to his closing set of Metalheadz and dancefloor D&B numbers.
Can't have an anniversary without the founder, Stranjah will do what he does best blending the best in the full spectrum of D&B music.
