From Riots to Respectability: the Irish experience in Toronto.

Learn about the Irish immigration to Toronto in the 19th Century and how this shaped Toronto. The walking tour will highlight key spots in downtown Toronto that tell the story of the Irish immigrants that fled famine and sectarian violence to make a new home in Canada. The tour begins at Mackenzie House (82 Bond Street) and finishes at the Market Gallery in St. Lawrence Market to explore the exhibit, «Settling in Toronto: The Quest for Freedom, Opportunity and Identity.»

Walk is approx. 2 hours in length. $10 per person including tax. Pre-registration is not required. For information, please call 416-392-6915.
