Dos XX was originally brewed by Wilhelm Hasse, a German immigrant living in Mexico in 1884. He originally named it ‘Siglo XX” with the Roman numerals representing the upcoming 20th century. But today we call it Dos Equis, which is Spanish for ‘two X’s” because Dos Equis stands for the kinds of things that are worth doing more than once.
