The Marwills are a 5-piece Sex Rock band based in Toronto, ON. Tight, ballsy, and bluesy, they play intense guitar-driven rock and roll with a focus on outstanding musicianship and a consistently greasy sound. Their live show is a massive dose of equal parts sweat, sonic sex, and gritty rock and roll.
«The Marwills — fresh, exciting, talented, exploding with energy and excitement — these guys were a highlight of the festival weekend!» Marianne Glover (Music Director, Tay Creek Folk Festival)
"...this is what real musicians should sound like." Baxter Labatos (Sphere Music Blog)
«Made my hair stand up...Fans of Traffic-era Steve Winwood are gonna love this one.» Brad Mennie (The Big Groove Radio Show), on the track Moonshine Hill
On Dec. 28, 2012, the band independently released their self-written/recorded/produced/mixed album, «Marwill St.» After returning in August 2014 from a riotously succesful Eastern Canada tour, they are in the process of recording their 2nd full-length album.
We tread not in the footsteps of the masters
We seek what they sought.
In a time where the industry is saturated with more product than music, four individuals came together from a place long forgotten. A place where music is more than a paycheck, more than a stepping stone but a true expression of the soul.
Bodhi Jar is not the product but the vessel. In 2013, four separate energies from four distinct pasts converged to carve their own path through the universe. Andrew Bragg, Drew Merrifield, Anthony Borek and Dakota Noreiga became the four pillars to this Progressive Rock sound.
When your only ambition is creation you delve into a place of purity. A place where inspiration resides and imagination reigns.
