we are pleased to announce another session of our medicinal herbal cream & salve workshop! This class is jam packed with incredible information instructed directly by Talal Al Hamad founder of The Urban Apothecary. The topics include:
What is a cream.
what is a salve
Comparison with other types of topical preparations
Herbs used in medicinal creams.
Using infused oils, herbal teas and flower waters.
How to make infused oils — Solar & lunar infusion, Dark infusion, Heat infusion
Ayurvedic oils — Siddha tailam
Using Bach Flowers, homeopathics, essential oils, tissue salts, etc.
Understanding different base oils.
Understanding different butters.
Jars and equipment.
Storage and preservation.
We will also be doing an in class demo making a batch of:
-medicinal herbal cream
-Demo of a herbal poultice (if time permits!)
In addition to the oodles of information and the knowledge to make your own topical herbal preparations, each participant will receive a complimentary mini jar of cream and salve to take home and use right away!
As we make different formulas that are personalized we can decide in class what formula we would like to make that would be of benefit to everyone!
