AN EVENING WITH THE SOLOMON DOUGLAS QUARTET
Presented in partnership with Jam Factory T.O & Bees' Knees Dance.

Join us for an exciting evening of jazz at the Jam! Our good pal (and internationally-loved swing jazz musician) Solomon Douglas is breezing through town fresh from another successful tour afloat the Australian coast. He's gathered a trio of his favourite bandmates for a special night of sweet swingin' sounds!

Solomon Douglas: Piano/Vocals
Brennen Ernst: Guitar
Andrew Millar: Drums
Jennifer Hodge: Bass

ABOUT SOLOMON DOUGLAS
Solomon Douglas is a jazz pianist and bandleader, whose various bands have played at hundreds of exchanges, camps, workshops, and other dance events in North America, Asia, and Australia in the past 18 years. His experience as a swing dancer and dance instructor gives him an understanding unique among musicians of the music that swing dancers and blues dancers like to dance to!

His influences as a pianist include Erroll Garner, Oscar Peterson, Gene Harris, Count Basie, and Thelonious Monk. His small groups (such as the Solomon Douglas Quartet) play a mixture of musical styles including blues, old-school swing, and groovy mainstream swinging jazz with tinges of bop and soul-jazz.
