THE FOREIGN RESORT — explosive post-punk and dark new-wave from Copenhagen, Denmark.

THE SHYNESS OF STRANGERS — electronic / post-punk from Toronto

September 13, 8pm, Free Admission

The Foreign Resort return to The Hideout Toronto after their succesful shows at Canadian Music Week 2017.
Disarm Magazine described the trio as «full of life and honesty. Questions and criticism. Intelligence and respect. Dripping with authenticity. And musically epic» as well as «on the forefront of a new sort of boundary-less, border-less, timeless new Post-punk, Darkwave».

“This Danish dark new-wave band is simply fantastic, and you must go see them if you get a chance!” – The Revue

“…their live show has a dark magic of its own and tends to blossom in unexpected ways, the highs higher and the lows deeper, with ease spilling out into pure rock guitar riffs or pulling it back to the delicious control of Post-punk with its sense of angst that is still tough as hell…” – Disarm Magazine

“At this point I’m already dancing and holding back the tears, reminiscing of love lost and sinking deeper into this sublime set, others are dancing in their own spot, this is the sound of introverts, regardless, we move.” – The Spill Magazine

We invite you to come out to this free show and find out yourself. We guarantee there will be a party! Showtime is 10pm but do show up early and have a drink with the band!

The Shyness of Strangers explore sonic landscapes with repetitive themes through corridors of human emotion, loudly. The deep vocals, reverb soaked guitar and distorted synthesizers are like a fuel you can dance to in the cold. Drawing inspiration from life's more melancholy moments, but deafening the sadness as the music turns the sorrow into celebration.
