Bring your own mug to the Art Gallery of Mississauga on Thursday, August 17th for an evening of contemporary art, coffee, snacks, and performances by local emerging musicians and poets! This free community event is held in collaboration with Ink Movement and will be hosted in the Main Gallery space. In between performances, guests are welcome and encouraged to snack, chill, and experience the current exhibitions.
1) Kat Baggio (aka Juniper Alien) is a musician who, with her ambient tunes, aims to generate deeply emotional resonance and response reflective of her own emotional thought processes and experiences.
2) Kohen Hammond and Andrew Chung (http://bit.ly/2hH41vs) are Toronto-based musicians out of Humber College's Bachelor of Music program. Hailing from various musical backgrounds, the two are an improvised guitar and violin duo.
3) Anjalee Nadarajan is a vainika, a person who plays the veena; a South Indian melodic stringed instrument. Anjalee is always looking for ways to combine Western influences with the Eastern veena.
4&5) Ink Movement Poets: Abirami Sudharshan and Pujita Verma
Ink Movement Canada works to promote creative expression among youth by organizing book publishing projects, workshops, conferences, and other innovative approaches to experiential arts education.
6) Sam and Desiree are two members of the dynamic band known as Kaleidoscope Horse; a 5 piece theatrical dream psych from Toronto, ON.
