Hot on the heels of their sold out performance at the Horseshoe Tavern for the 20th anniversary of “OK Computer”, Canada’s finest Radiohead tribute band, IDIOTEQUE now tackles another important landmark — celebrating the 10th anniversary of Radiohead’s classic “In Rainbows” album. The band will kick off their extended set with a selection of favourites from Radiohead’s vast catalogue, then performing the entire In Rainbows album note-for-note, track-for-track.
With just 10 days warning, Radiohead announced the imminent release of their 7th studio album, October 10th, 2007, and made waves across the rapidly changing music industry with their pay-what-you-want release strategy, the first of its kind for a band of their stature. At that time, having fulfilled their contract with EMI, Radiohead became the biggest “independent” band in the world.
The album’s dark themes of an inner struggle with one’s own humanity and morality are softened by its lush palette of sound and texture, lulling the listener into a false sense of comfort. Like other great Radiohead releases, In Rainbows has a timelessness to it, and will continue to sound fresh for years to come…. nevertheless, let gather together on Dec. 9th to mark the passing of time and listen to this great album performed live in its entirety!
Special Guests: Language Arts
Bombastic art pop, held together by Kristen Cudmore's classical guitar-abilities -gone electric- with a wall of effects built throughout to emphasize or disguise. Neil MacIntosh's wild drumming is dynamically controlled chaos. Rounded out by guest synth bassist, the unbelievable Chris Pruden playing their composed and catchy lines that make you restless to boogie. Finally, guest guitarist/synth doctor, Patrick O'Reilly, transcending the sounds and sending you into the hypnotic feels. The ensemble expresses unique and delicious songs in a memorable show with lots of love and laughs throughout.
