Toronto, October- Northern Contemporary will exhibit Not Just A Name, opening Thursday, October 12th, 2017 at 5pm and running untill Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.

Not Just A Name explores Dorien Verlinden’s journey to discover the history of her great-grandfather, a Jewish journalist of Polish origin who fought for his beliefs and morals during WWII.

Using analogue photography and charcoal Dorien captures the history of her great-grandfather and the emotions felt by future generations affected by the Holocaust. Not Just A Name is a personal examination of a single person caught in a moment of history that will never be forgotten.

More than a name on a wall, Heinrich Chaskel Rechtschaffen is a direct descendent to generations that survive to tell his tale.
