// Teri Parker
Teri Parker is a jazz pianist, keyboardist and composer based in Toronto. She leads her own band, the Teri Parker Quartet, and co-leads the Parker Abbott Trio with pianist Simeon Abbott. Both of these groups play frequently in jazz clubs in Toronto and feature all original music. She is also a member of several other bands including Idioteque (Canada’s finest Radiohead tribute band) and the DeHarms (with singer-songwriter Carlie Howell). As a composer Teri actively writes for her own bands, and in 2015 received a Toronto Arts Council grant to write new music for her quartet, which can be heard on their debut album In the Past, released in fall of 2017.
Teri’s main group is the Teri Parker Quartet features Allison Au on saxophone, Mark Godfrey on Bass and Mack Longpre on drums. The group has been playing since 2012, developing their sound through years of rehearsing, performing, video/audio demos and resulting in their first full length album In the Past. The band will celebrate the new release with a tour of Ontario; with shows in Toronto (Burdock), Guelph (Manhattan’s) and Ottawa (Brookstreet).
// Graham Campbell
Described as a «gifted guitarist and composer» (The Whole Note), Graham Campbell is a versatile musician based in Toronto. He studied with jazz great David Baker in his hometown of Bloomington, Indiana, and earned a Masters in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto. He has performed at the Festival of the Sound, The Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, The Montreal Chamber Music Festival, and many others throughout North America, appearing with notable musicians such as jazz pianist Gene DiNovi, genre-bending violinist Mark Fewer, and jazz vocalist/pianist Laila Biali. He performs regularly with psychedelic Brazilian rock band Os Tropies, reggae band The Human Rights, and Brazilian singer-songwriter Bruno Capinan.
// Simeon Abbott
Simeon Abbott is an active improviser and composer based in Toronto. Simeon's latest project, Path of Least Resistance, takes inspiration from popular songwriting forms in order to create lyrical contemporary solo piano music that bring a new voice to the piano; melody, arrangement, and timbre are engaged in novel ways that make the piano “sing”, bringing the emotional impact and resonance of voice to the keys. Simeon has appeared at dozens of jazz, folk and pop festivals across North America. Recently, he completed a cross-canada tour with Parker Abbott Trio, and performs regularly with Toronto acts Dwayne Gretzky, Teen Ravine, and Danielle Duval. His work has been described as, “An ethereal wonderland of sound and texture” (Brent Black criticaljazz.com).
