Zombies! Psychos! Three-dimensional masks!

We ring in 🎃 Halloween at TIFF Bell Lightbox 🎃 with a double-bill screening of the late, great Father of the Zombie Film George A. Romero's Night Of The Living Dead in a stunning 4K restoration and the 1961 cult horror classic THE MASK: THE EYES OF HELL restored to its original 3D 🕶

October 31
George A. Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968)
4K Restoration
When the recently deceased suddenly come back to life with a hunger for human flesh, a young woman, Barbara (Judith O'Dea), takes refuge in a farmhouse where a small group has barricaded itself against the zombie onslaught. Led by the resourceful Ben (Duane Jones), the group struggles to survive as the shuffling hordes of the undead attack their hiding place.

Julian Roffman's THE MASK: THE EYES OF HELL (1961)
A psychiatrist comes into possession of an ancient tribal mask that, when worn, assails him with nightmarish visions of monsters, occultists, and ritual torture. Believing that he has discovered a portal to the deepest recesses of his mind, he continues to explore this terrifying new psychic world — even at the risk of his sanity. With its riot of psychedelic 3D imagery restored to its full, dizzyingly surreal glory, Julian Roffman's 1961 cult classic — the first feature-length 3D film made in Canada — returns to serve up some chills for Halloween.
