On the night we celebrate the life and legacy of Jason Voorhees, Roda de Samba de Toronto presents a night of classic samba, cold beer and great atmosphere — the same old crap I say about every Saturday afternoon show, but now honouring the machete and hockey mask that used to make us sleep with the lights on.
Since a lot of people complain about not being able to come to our daytime concerts, this week we are holding a rare opportunity for all nocturnal Samba lovers to jump out of your coffins, stop biting necks and come have a good time with us.
ONE NIGHT ONLY — that's right, we are NOT changing our regular Saturday afternoon schedule. This is happening only this next Friday the 13th, as we truly believe that mixing samba and a mystic date may finally guide the bad spirits living in your underpants towards the light.
We will still charge the same old $5 door cover, and from a pentagram drawn on the floor with cachaça and run we summoned your favourite doorman back from Brazil: NILSON PEMBA KING O Sete Capas do Bom Retiro. No Friday 13 is complete without that entity. Welcome back Nilson!
