January 14th, 2018. A new year and a new night of artists!

Features Include:

Nimra Bandukwala Art – Poetry + Visual Art

Nimra is an art-maker whose head lives in Montreal, hands live in Italy, and heart resides in Pakistan. Each part inspires the themes and metaphors of her work, including migration, community, and the creative process. Her work has been exhibited in the Anticafe, the Fridge Door Gallery, MPSA McGill, and published in Re:asian Magazine.

Claire Freeman-Fawcett – Poetry

Claire Freeman-Fawcett is a writer, poet, and publisher living in Toronto. She is the founder and editor of Spread Letter, a multi-genre epistolary literary series featuring new writing. Claire is currently completing her MFA in Poetry through the University of Guelph.

Liane Daiter and With Love Compassion Cards – Art Cards

Liane has lived experience with mental health issues. One day, she sat down with some art supplies and the determination to make something beautiful. What resulted were three mental health compassion cards, which she handed out to strangers. Seeing the way her cards touched others planted a seed that has grown into a deep love of art and an enthusiasm for spreading compassion. All of her cards are inspired by her own experiences or the experiences of the people she loves most. She is grateful for the opportunity to share this with you.

theDAMZEL – Music!

Based out of Toronto, Ontario, The Damzel joins two voices into one. Writing and singing together for the last 3 years, Shyla and Jennah released their first EP in May 2017. Right from the first song of their debut album, The Damzel’s smooth and smoky vocals are complemented by the mid-tone drive of a lone acoustic guitar. The poignant imagery and strong storytelling captivate the listener, and their deftly placed harmonies lift each song, consistently evoking the tension of sadness and hope throughout the album.
