Starting off the new year with a bang! Presenting, Progressive Winter 2018 at Lee's Palace, featuring the following:

Archipelago
archipelagoto.bandcamp.com/
6-piece progressive band from Toronto made up of students and graduates from the Humber College Jazz program. All members come together from different musical backgrounds to create a collective with elements of metal, classical, funk, jazz and more. The result is a unique and original music style, executed with energy and precision, where each instrument is given room to shine while being part of an extremely cohesive overall sound. Bound to appeal to listeners of vintage and modern progressive music, Archipelago are currently working on releasing a debut album in the spring, and will in the meantime tide us over with a headlining performance at this event!

Strike Scream Run
strikescreamrun.com/
A fusion of jazz, progressive rock, and psychedelic rock (while possibly straying somewhat on the jazz fusion side of things), Strike Scream Run often feature interplay between various instruments, including tasteful lead parts played on keyboards, guitar and saxophone. The band played at our first progressive event of 2017, where we have described them as «Eclectic, somewhat psychedelic and maybe a little avant-garde. Unique instrumentation lends itself to interesting originals and creative takes on covers.» Having played mostly an instrumental band, their show at Lee's will include guest vocals, contributing to a diverse rich and diverse set.

Odd Ones
oddonesmusic.bandcamp.com/
Based in Mississauga, Odd Ones describe themselves as a «High-energy progressive alternative rock act with a pop flare. The result is a mesh of pop and metal tunes that are captivating and headbang-worthy.» Having played with a variety of bands since their inception in late 2014, they have played with Affinity, Red Handed Denial, Earth's Yellow Sun, and Haken, among others. In August 2017 they were nominated for the Mississauga Music Awards (Best Rock band). Be sure to catch their first show of 2018!

And introducing:

A newly formed band, LEA plays a mix of alternative rock, experimental and progressive rock. This will be the band's first appearance, where they will be playing a concise set to open the evening and set the stage for the featured bands to follow.
