// Geneviève Racette
Her first EP was released in May 2014 and earned her a nomination for the Sirius XM Indies Award “Emerging French Artist of the Year”. Her first full length album “Les aurores bore?ales” was released in 2016. Genevie?ve’s songs have charted in many radio stations in Que?bec (Radio-Canada — Country, Radio-Canada — Chanson pop, Sirius XM Influence Franco, CKVL, CISM, CIBL.) In 2017, she toured Que?bec as the opening act for acclaimed singer-songwriters Franc?ois Lachance and Vale?rie Carpentier. That spring, Genevie?ve was chosen among 150 singer-songwriters to participate in a residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity to work on her songs with some of the most renowned songwriters in Nashville. Following a busy summer touring the province of Que?bec on ROSEQ’s “De?couverte” Tour, Genevie?ve Racette launched a new EP “Covers” on October 6th, 2017. It is with her delicate voice and with her unique folk style that the singer songwriter truly made these covers her own.
// Danielle Knibbe (Music)
Steeped in folk, roots, and country sensibilities, Danielle Knibbe's songs win, and then all too often break your heart. Drawn from keen observation, they tell stories of the shimmer of new love, the angst of fading love, insecurity, loss, and hope. Her stories may not be about you, but you'll think they are. Her debut CD, Some Curious Birds (2016), has garnered CBC attention, regionally and nationally. CKUA’s David Ward selected it as an ‘Essential Album of 2016’, and it charted in the top 20 on CiTR, CJRU, CKDU and CFBX. The summer of 2017 saw Danielle performing at BC’s Tiny Lights and Sunshine Festivals, and on two Western Canada tours alongside her musical collaborators Bryn Besse, guitar, and Connor Walsh, bass.
