Born and raised in the Orthodox Jewish community of North London, Ronit (Rachel Weisz) never quite fit in. Not willing to adhere to the strict rules placed upon her as a young woman she fled to New York and made a new life as a successful photographer.
Old wounds are opened, however, when her estranged rabbi father passes away and she is forced to return to the place that she used to call home. The already complicated visit takes a turn for the worse when Ronit discovers that her cousin has married her former flame, Esti (Rachel McAdams.) As Ronit attempts to wrap up her time with a family that doesn't understand her, she and Esti struggle with the temptation to reignite what they once had.
Based on the book by Naomi Alderman, Disobedience is the latest film from Chilean master Sebastián Lelio (Gloria, A Fantastic Woman) and trust us when we say, everyone will be talking about this one.
— Due to high demand this screening has gone off-sale and is now subject to our Rush Policy. The Rush Line will form up to an hour and a half before show time and any leftover tickets will go on sale to the Rush Line 15 minutes before the screening begins.
