Join us at the Burdock to kick off the new year of Charlie's FreeWheels bike programs for youth!

Charlie's has a fantastic full year of programs planned for 2018, with a greater variety of programs being offered than ever before. In 2018 we are celebrating our 9th year of offering the successful Build-a-Bike program, a program through which we teach youth to build their own bicycles! This year also marks our new Ride program, which teaches youth about safe cycling, and how rad cycling in Toronto can be.

Charlie’s FreeWheels is a registered charity (80130 9147 RR 0001). We provide charitable receipts for all contributions over $25.

This is an ALL AGES event!

Doors at 7pm
Show starts at 8pm sharp — over before midnight!

Tickets are $30 and can be be purchased in advance online through Eventbrite.

This event will include a silent auction, stories from the Charlie's community, and performances from some awesome supporters of youth and bike initiatives in Toronto:

=== Moscow Apartment Music===

Chosen as the Young Performers of the Year at the 2017 Canadian Folk Music Awards and Best Young Songwriters at the 2017 Toronto Independent Music Awards, Moscow Apartment is driven by a mixture of sweet harmonies and belted refrains, acoustic shimmer and electric crunch, and the clever wordplay of multi-instrumentalists and versatile vocalists Brighid Fry and Pascale Padilla.

=== Abigail Lapelll ===

Toronto songwriter Abigail Lapell draws from roots, indie and punk traditions. Hailed as an artist to watch by NOW Magazine, the singer and multi-instrumentalist has toured across North America and Europe. Her new album, Hide Nor Hair, won the 2017 Canadian Folk Music Award for Contemporary Album of the Year.

=== Deanna Petcoff ===

The word that jumps to mind when hearing Deanna Petcoff's music for the first time is yearning. Although yearning is a verb, not an adjective, it is the closest thing that can describe the hold her music takes on the listener. The warmth and texture of her sweeping vocals intertwined with the almost playful blueness of her lyrics fills the listener with a sense of intense longing, and reveals to us a worldview that is full of pain at the loss of love, and full of hope for something more beautiful.

=== So Young ===

So Young is the musical project of multi-disciplinarian artist Paterson Hodgson. Currently performing as a duo, So Young's sweet power-pop hooks combine with feminist lyrics and a self-aware style that makes you wish they were your friends in high school.
