This company falsely advertises outdoor parties but waits until they have enough people to open the outdoor rooftop. Unfortunately, I went to the Melanin Magic party on May 20th and since not enough people came they forced everyone to stay inside the very dark indoor nightclub during a beautiful hot sunny day. It was a gorgeous, hot and sunny day, I can't stress that enough.

Also don't believe their hype about cultural parties as there is nothing cultural or unique about it. You walk into the Maison Mercer venue which is a nightclub and thats it. No backdrop where you can take photos, no drink specials, no african style face-painting like they show in their photos. This is just your typical Toronto INDOOR nightclub scene but during the day. And we never heard from the host. Was she even there? We couldn't tell and we stayed the entire time waiting for that damn patio to open. Remember when they say «weather-pending» they really mean «people-pending». #wouldNOTrecommend

I just want to also add that I also posted a review on facebook and the organizer Kay Spexx Jordon immediately deleted my review and sent me a scathing privately message, insulting my intentions. My friend told me the same thing happened to her yesterday when she posted a review. This is not only unprofessional but immature that someone who organizes public events cannot handle public feedback. And retaliates privately so as to not allow others to form their own opinions. She self-righteously claims that my posting an honest review of her event is tearing down the black community. I'm sorry what does stating that the outdoor event was falsely advertised have to do with the not supporting the black community? I paid for a ticket and showed up! I was disappointed and rightly gave a review. This Kay person then sends me another msg to claim cast blame on the venue she hosted at, claim victim of slander and privately attack me further, then immediately blocks me from being able to reply. Someone who can dish it but can't take it should not be organizing public events.
