CRISIS MAKEUP!
The Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration is upgrading in 2018 to begin its evolution into Pretty Heroes, a convention dedicated to strong female characters.
Sailor Moon programming will always be the heart of the event, but we wanted to add more awesome female characters to the convention and create a space that celebrates female heroes and inspires young people to believe in themselves and dream big.
We hope you will join us in 2018 for our first two day event and we'd love to hear which other franchises you want to see incorporated into the convention.
— HIGHLIGHT GUESTS:
--------------------------------------------------...-------------------------
Our first voice actor guest of honour is Matt Hill, the voice of the adorable guardian beast Keroberos from the Cardcaptors English dub. You may also recognize Matt from many of his other voice roles including Kira on Gundam SEED, Bankotsu in Inuyasha, and Ed in Ed, Edd and Eddy. He also jumped into the role (and suit) as everyone’s favourite turtle in the half shell, “Raphael,” in the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III movie. Whether you want to say «cowabunga» or find out his favourite flavour of pudding, let's make him feel welcome in Toronto!
Our second voice actor guest announcement is the multi-talented Carly McKillip whom fans will recognize as the original voice of Sakura from the Cardcaptors English dub. She is also known as an actress, songwriter, musician, singer, musical engineer/editor, and music producer. She’s gone far since her voice acting days and fans are encouraged to check out her band, One More Girl for a sampling of her musical endeavours.
Our third voice actor guest announcement is the fantastic Vince Corazza whom fans will recognize as the original voice of the alien Alan Granger and the third voice of Darien Shields/Tuxedo Mask in the original English dubs of Sailor Moon. Returning to our convention for a second time, Vince is looking forward to meeting even more of his Torontonian fans.
Our fourth voice actor guest announcement is the multi-talented, multi-award winning Canadian actress Sabrina Grdevich whom fans will recognize as the original voice of the alien Anne Granger and the first voice of Sailor Pluto in the original English dubs of Sailor Moon.
Our fifth voice actor guest announcement is Barbara Radecki whom fans will recognize as the original voice of Sailor Neptune in the original English dubs. In recent years, she has turned her attention to writing and her debut novel, THE DARKHOUSE, was released in Canada in October 2016.
The circus is coming! Performing at our convention for the first time, IlluminAir Entertainment will be there all weekend to perform multiple aerialist shows and be featured in a variety of programming.
— COMIC ARTIST GUESTS:
— Our first comic artist guest is Rossi Gifford, creator of the critically acclaimed fantasy series Spirit Leaves from Chapterhouse Comics, as well as an in-demand illustrator and character designer.
Our second comic artist guest is Emmanuelle Chateauneuf. Her work includes features in The Feathertale Review, Captain Canuck, Toronto Comics, and her first original graphic novel, Queen Street.
— COSPLAY & COSMODEL GUESTS:
— Chibi Lenne is a costumer who competes at the Master Level. She has spent over a decade in the hobby, winning numerous best in show awards from Anime North, FanExpo, and CostumeCon. She currently finds herself wanting to give back to the community – to share the tips and tricks she’s learned along the way, and to be there as a support for those just taking their first steps into the cosplay world.
Breathelifeindeeply is known for cosplaying from classic anime and video game series such as Terra from Final Fantasy 6, Record of Lodoss War, and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind as well as for putting her heart and detail into everything she does.
Our first cosmodel guest is The Last Son. He is a cosplay model and entertainer who produces epic photoshoots. He is known for both his Disney prince/villain recreations as well as various super hero cosplays. Don’t miss singing Disney karaoke with him and his friends on Saturday night at this year’s convention.
Returning for a fourth year, Ammie Cosplay is a masters level cosplayer recognized internationally, particularly for her i and Harley Quinn cosplays. She has been featured in several cosplay books and various magazines around the world for her costume work and knowledge on costume construction.
A professional theatre and dance costumer for over 10 years and a cosplayer since 2014, SoManyJets is excited to teach fans how to get started in cosplay and work with different kinds of fabrics. She’s also planning to create a new “girl power” costume just in time for this year’s convention.
Stavvy Cosplay has been cosplaying for the past five years and is best known for her Disney cosplays and makeup skills. Stavvy enjoys creating makeup looks and sourcing materials for cosplays. She frequently attends local conventions and loves meeting new people. Her friendly demeanour and the attention to detail she strives for has her fans saying she is a “real life” Disney Princess.
SeaVeela is an actress, makeup artist, cosplay model, and owner of Pixie Dust Co LLC; a premium character company based out of Colorado. Her dedication to her craft, meticulous attention to detail, and elaborate costumes by Designer Daddy are combined with an unsurpassed commitment to character integrity. This has led to her finding her true passion in inspiring kindness, bravery, and hope in princes and princesses of all ages.
