Let's enjoy music together on Thursday nights at Ontario Place
On June 14th Afro-Cuban jazz and Latin based hip hop music performances will launch our Thursday night music series!
Check out the schedule:
7:00-7:45 and 8:00-8:45 OKAN
Blending jazz, Afro-Cuban and classical forms, and world rhythms, OKAN takes inspiration from the roots of Cuban music and contributes to the contemporary evolution of these powerful traditions in the global context.
9:00-10:00 Ruben Esguerra & New Tradition Music
Esguerra’s many years of hard work culminated in his first album, A New Tradition, which combines spoken word and hip hop with Latin rhythms and melodies. The tracks are percussion-based with trombones as a staple; the artist wanted to include the kuisi a.k.a gaita (a 2,000-year-old South American instrument) along with more contemporary instruments like the turntables.
This event is FREE!
