》Oliver the Crow
Nashville-based Oliver the Crow navigates effortlessly between the gravitas of chamber composition, the longing of folk music, the near dreamlike quality of atmospheric sound art, and above all, pop music’s candy-sweet escape. It’s no wonder NPR Music has named their duo “an inspired collaboration.” One thing is certain: Oliver the Crow cannot be defined by genre, and yet is timeless, indelible. Kaitlyn and Ben have mastered the art of anchoring a folk song in epic pop sensibility, and it is so fun to hear them smash all the rules.
Since the release of their 2016 Polaris Prize nominated sophomore album Patience, Georgian Bay has actively and extensively toured Central and Eastern Canada, performed at the Mariposa Folk Festival, and headlined at the Alliance Française de Toronto Theatre. The harmonized voices of Joëlle Westman and Kelly Lefaive remain the trademark sound of this Toronto-based bilingual duo as they fearlessly fuse elements of electronic, jazz and chamber music to their folk roots. «A fascinating and absorbing sonic experience» — Chris Montanini, The Londoner
