Jacob Scheier is the author of two poetry collections with ECW Press, including the Governor General’s Award winning More to Keep Us Warm (2007). His poems have been nominated for a National Magazine Award and longlisted for the CBC Poetry Prize. He is also the co-winner of New York City Community Media Alliance Award for best feature article. He is the author of the nonfiction ebook, My Never Ending Acid Trip, published by The Toronto Star (2013), and his personal essays have appeared in Brick, Joyland, and the American literary magazine The Sun.
Nyla Matuk is the author of Sumptuary Laws (2012) and Stranger (2016), both with Véhicule Press. Her poems have appeared in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. including The New Yorker, Poetry, PN Review, The Walrus, and Canadian Notes and Queries, and in anthologies such as Best Canadian Poetry and New Poetries VI (Carcanet, 2015). She was nominated for the Gerald Lampert Award and the Walrus Poetry Prize and was the 2018 Mordechai Richler Writer-in-Residence at McGill University. She is currently editing an anthology of poets ‘resisting Canada’ to be published with Véhicule Press in 2019.
Lisa Richter is a Toronto-based poet, writer, creative writing facilitator, and ESL teacher. Her debut collection of poetry, Closer to Where We Began, was published in spring 2017 by Tightrope Books; her poems have previously appeared in a number of journals, including The Malahat Review, The Puritan, The Literary Review of Canada, and The Scrivener, as well as two anthologies, Voices for Diversity and Social Justice: A Literary Education Anthology and Jack Layton: Art in Action. She was longlisted for the CBC Poetry Prize in 2015, and won first place in CV2 Magazine’s 2-Day Poem Contest. Lisa is currently working on her second collection of poetry.
